At the RCE Launch at the Gathering Space, we invited students from Edmison Heights to share their thoughts on what the Habitat Area means to them (which is a half-acre area of the schoolyard that's been naturalized with pollinator gardens & forest). We were amazed by their responses, below are a couple we wanted to highlight.
““I’ve been a Habitat helper (at Edmison Heights) for quite a while. The habitat is just an amazing place to be. The trees tower around you and just calm you down. It’s so refreshing, like a cold drink on a hot summer day. Trees help us to breath. They provide resources. If we didn’t have trees, we wouldn’t be here today. I think that by helping out in the Habitat I am doing my part to help people and wildlife.””
